We were delighted to get our hands on this lovely one owner 1990 Fender American Vintage Reissue Stratocaster. Bought new in 1991 by the first owner who loved and cherished it until a few weeks ago. The American vintage reissue guitars were first seen in 1982 when a troubled Fender Company needed to bring their somewhat evolved product back to it’s roots and back to the pre CBS quality. By 1986 they were being made in the new Corona factory but seperate to the normal production lines and in what later became the custom shop. Throughout the 1990s I always remember these as being some of the best Fenders available. Nitro finishes, a vintage radius and frets, vintage style pickups and a look that took us right back to the 60s. They have become very coveted instruments and remain a very important part of Fenders history. This superb example has never been modified aside from the supplied five way switch being fitted (by the supplying dealer). All of the original paper work and hang tags remain in the case making it a lovely find. To play it’s lovely, a slim neck with the vintage radius and small frets. A great bit of nostalgia and now a vintage guitar in it’s own right.
