Fender Stratocaster Custom Shop 61 Journeyman Relic Black / Gold hardware

Another stunning example from the Fender Custom Shop, this time a 61 Relic Stratocaster with gold hardware. This gorgeous guitar has a very heavily checked black finish with very authentic relic work done in the custom shop. It's a Journeyman Relic so not too heavy but still looks nicely aged. The neck back retains a gloss lacquer finish which is smooth and silky. The original owner of this instrument didn't play it much, so it remains in outstanding condition. It has the fat 60s hand wound pickups that give it a classic Strat sound. The Ash body has a lovely open grain that the nitro is sinking into nicely to reveal a classic vintage look. Expertly rolled fret board edges make this extremely comfy to play. It's also a great weight too at just 7 lbs 2 Onces. Today Custom Shop Relics are retailing in the UK stores for upwards of £3700 and in some cases certain models are exceeding the £4k mark. In recent years the Fender Custom Shop have producing some of the finest guitars of the company’s history with an attention to detail that makes these Relics extremely accurate reproductions of their pre-CBS ancestors.
