Guitar Description

We recently acquired this classic 4001 bass from a Rickenbacker collector and enthusiast. This example has been well played over the years and while it exhibits plenty of cosmetic scars it remains in excellent playable condition and sounds fantastic. Over the years there has been a few replacements / upgrades including one of the pots that's been changed to the later push/pull configuration. The pickguard has also been replaced with a genuine Rickenbacker one from 1970 due to the orginal one cracking and the hairpin truss rods have been replaced with carbon steel ones from Rickysounds. It's worth noting that there is a VERY specific way to adjust the truss rod on these basses and further information on that can be seen in this you tube video.  An honest well used players instrument with some upgrades associated with years of playing.

Guitar Condition

A well used bass with lots of natural wear. Frets are good and it's in perfect working order. Lacquer chips, marks and buckle rash as you'd expect for a well played guitar is this age. Refretted & replacement pick guard (a 1970 genuine one is fitted). Replacement truss rods.
