This lovely Les Paul Deluxe came to us recently from a professional player and music teacher who had owned it for many years as his main instrument. Initially touted as the guitar he’d never sell he did finally let us get our hands on it. With it’s slim neck this plays like a dream, it’s an awesome Les Paul in fact. We can see why he was so attached to it. There is a lovely resonance to it acoustically but when it’s fired up it sounds incredible. Amazing rocky tones, very Les Paul but with some more Telecaster elements to the sound at times. It sounds amazing clean but we found that when the gain is wound up it just sings, addictive! Through it’s long life and service it’s had the machine heads replaced (originals included) and also the bridge (original included) it’s had a very good re-fret and has tons of life left. Also has had changed strap button and jack socket plate. Pots look stock and there have been no breaks or serious damage. We’d expect to see very tidy or mint / original examples fetching circa £4500 at present (early 2024) and this one is priced according to it’s condition. There is little doubt that owning this is going to be a pleasure. In terms of the year it appears to be a 1973 but in this era Les Pauls are notoriously hard to pin point so we think it could be closer to 1975. A stunning guitar that almost made it into the personal collection.
